Summary Review: Celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver has Jamie’s Italian’s restaurant across certain states of Australia. As per the name we definitely had high expectations and to my surprise it has hits but a lot of misses. Their pasta’s on the other hand was really good. One that we enjoyed the most. The antipasti planks are very popular, pretty cool setting & good variety on offer. The service is excellent, so quick and efficient and the price is affordable.
As an avid fan of Jamie I was very excited to dine at his restaurant. As Melbourne does not have a branch, I was lucky enough to dine during my holidays in Adelaide.
Prior to entering the restaurant you will see the menu outside in a brass glass case, which I really like so that you can see the dishes if you have to wait outside or even just walking past the place in curiosity.
We started off the night at the bar until our table is cleared & set. Above is a mocktail, which has elderflower in it. I love every drink that has elderflower these days.
This restaurant is always busy, people everywhere dining and waiting at the bar to get seated. The service is also very quick and friendly. As we got seated there was a spare seat on our table and the waiter sat there comfortably and chatting to us with recommendations and specials for the night. I love it! Best customer service ever!
They have a pretty antipasti/deli bar in the middle. As well as a pasta maker on the side where all the housemade pastas are made. Pretty funky!

seasoned Vegetables Antipasti plank
This restaurant is known for it’s Antipasti planks, they are very popular, so we chose the seasonal vegetable plank. The cheeses on the antipasti are all yummy. There was a buffalo mozzarella and a cheddar on “music” bread (which is like a soft cracker). The pickled carrots and capsicum, as well as the olives, sweet chillies were ok. A bit flat and bland for my liking.
mushroom porcini pasta
For the pasta we had the porcini mushrooms, which was yum!
baked King Salmon
zucchini fritters
For mains we had the Baked King Salmon, which I felt was a let down as it was bland, a bit on the dry side too. It had seasonal vegetables but it lacked flavour, it needed to have some sort of sauce to lift the fish and the veggies. For the sides we had the zucchini fritters which was nice.
Unfortanely we didn’t get a chance to have a dessert as we were so full from the main and entree.
But will definitely visit again next time to try other dishes as well as the dessert.
They also had a range of Jamie Oliver’s merchandise, all of his cookbooks as well as other kitchen items.
